Japan
Mark & Jin Rood with their children, Abbie (17), Josiah (14), and Kayla (12) have been serving with the Navigators in Tokyo, Japan for 16 years.
We are seeking to advance a relational campus and graduates ministry while living deeply among the lost. We help to lead the Tokyo BEST (Bible English Sports & Travel) Club by leading Bible discussions, teaching conversational English and traveling together. Young Japanese believers are growing through mentoring and various Bible discussions. Our vision is to raise up Japanese leaders and laborers to change Japan from the inside out.
The Roods work with two other American staff families, and a Japanese couple. The iEDGE team will provide much needed interaction with the 100+ students and graduates who are showing spiritual interest.
Why Japan?
The Japanese are the world’s second largest un-reached people group. While Japanese are outwardly successful and prosperous, inwardly many struggle deeply with loneliness, depression, meaninglessness, and suicide.
Tokyo, the largest city in Asia and the center of Japanese culture, is one of most exciting cities in the world, abounding in opportunities for pioneer ministry.
